Local places to visit include:

Conversano with its ancient origins dating back to 1,000, where there are daily tours around the castle.

Putignano set on 3 rolling hills and its famous Carnevale which dates back to 1394 and is held in February each year,

Polignano a Mare a historic fortress set in the rocks. Polignano is renowned  for it’s chic Grotto Palazzee Hotel, Restaurant.  A walk through the narrow streets of the fortress takes you to spectacular views of the crystal clear sea of the Adriatic. Then its onto San Vito for a swim, laze on the beach or lunch at the restaurant overlooking the beautiful Adriatic, to sample its local speciality of pasta or fish.

A walk around the old town and port of Monopoli is a must, with lunch at La Vecchia Taverna.(see useful links details)

On the road to Monopoly there is an adventure climbing park, near to the caves at Castellana is Dinosaurland and a safari park near Fasano. You can also play a round of golf at Club Barialto, Casamassima.

For a day’s exploration you can visit Ostuni, Lecce, Bari and Brindisi
